Please note that a one day Tri Ireland License is required to take part (unless you are a member of Triathlon Ireland). This needs to be obtained from www.triathlonireland.com (under the competitions page) in advance of registering for the Kerryhead event (their rules, not ours). The advantage of the Triathlon Ireland Licence is that the Kerryhead Triathlon becomes a sanctioned event. This ensures that it meets certain standards including safety, timing, transition area, etc.

Team Relay registration allows you to split the event between three people with each person competing in one disclipline. This is ideal for beginnners or non-swimmer who wish to take part in the Triathlon.
Remember that any individual raisinfg more than €150 for the Enable Ireland Charity can claim their entry fee back.

Registration will take place in the Ballyheigue Community Centre which is the building located to the left hand side of the main beach car park between 10am and 12 noon. Each participant will be obliged to sign in to receive their pack which will contain your timing chip, race number(s), T-Shirt and swim hat. Swimmers will also have to sign a Swim Declaration Form.
As stated the race is a sprint distance event which includes a 750m sea swim beginning from Ballyheigue Beach, a 20km cycle around Kerry Head and a 5km run through Ballyheigue village. View the proposed route.
Ballyheigue is a coastal village in County Kerry. It is approximately 18 km north of Tralee on the R551. It is a scenic resort town with many miles of beaches that connect to Banna Strand to the south, and Kerry Head to the north. The village is an excellent location to hold a triathlon.
