Safe Destination Kerry 2021

In preparation for the reopening of the hospitality sector and to position Kerry as the safest destination in Ireland, Kerry County Council, in conjunction with Kerry Education & Training Board, Kerry Branch of the Irish Hotels Federation and KTIF (Kerry Tourism Industry Federation), have launched an updatedSafe Destination Programme 2021.    Following on from the success of the 2020 Safe Destination initiative, this new programme is more accessible and is available to those who have participated previously and also available to new participants.

To obtain the 2021 Safe Destination Badge, businesses are required to complete ‘Safe Stay’ training course (approx. 3 hours duration).  Failte Ireland have confirmed that they will award businesses who have secured the Kerry Safe Destination Badge 2021, the Failte Ireland COVID-19 Safety Charter 2021

The training will assist in providing all hospitality employees with some of the key elements of the required back-to-work induction training including an understanding of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) disease and its transmission; a review of the relevant Government and sectoral re-opening guidelines and practical steps to ensure that these guidelines are adhered to and implemented.  This year’s training programme will also have a focus on outdoor dining and includes how best to apply these techniques in a hospitality setting for both indoor and outdoor dining, and the management of business processes regarding congestion, queuing and seating for both indoor and outdoor areas.
