St. Patrick’s Day in County Kerry | 2021

“There are only two kinds of people in the world, the Irish and those who wish they were.”

- Irish Saying

#HappyStPatricksDay! Although St. Patrick’s celebrations may be a bit different this year, there are still many great ways in which we can celebrate the well-known Irish culture and the rich history and heritage thanks to the innovative ideas of people around us.

There are amazing virtual events happening around Kerry, as well as many local attractions going green to join the mission of #GlobalGreening and turning the world green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day worldwide. We have listed all of them below.

So, celebrate #StPatricksDayAtHome with us this year. Light up a green candle in your window, paint your face green and join the Irish at home and abroad on this unforgettable day like no other.

Make sure to tag @Experience_Kerry and show us how you are   celebrating St. Patrick’s Day at home this year, we will be resharing all your lovely  posts throughout the day.

Siamsa Tíre Tralee

With restrictions still in place, the festivities we have come to know and love are not possible, but Siamsa Tíre is doing all in its power to keep the spirit alive. To celebrate and honour our national holiday, Siamsa Tíre joins Tralee town’s businesses by illuminating its iconic building in a green glow. It will also present a celebratory concert online for St Patrick’s Day from 8pm. Featuring old and new musical material, the concert will broadcast on Siamsa Tíre social channels (Facebook and YouTube) to not only celebrate St Patrick’s Day but to mark 12 months of lockdown too.

This past year has been extremely challenging for the arts sector and the people at its heart. However, instead of holding back, Siamsa Tíre moved forward into the new normal, providing arts support to keep our collective creativity alive. These initiatives have included its first virtual visual exhibition, online dance and music workshops, the Sounds Like Folk podcast, Trad Connections concerts, and the Associate Artist Scheme.

Art, dance, and music have the power to bring people together, and this message has never been more important than for this St Patrick's Day.  As the Irish saying goes: 'Ní neart go cur le chéile.'  To find out more about Siamsa Tíre's current artistic projects, visit their websitehere.
