Kerry Education and Training Board (Kerry ETB), through its Business Support Unit at Kerry College (BSU), is excited to announce the successful completion of the ICDL Digital Marketing pilot programme. The programme wrapped up this week with 14 participants taking their final exams.
Launched in January 2025, this programme was developed in partnership with Discover Kerry to help local businesses improve their online presence. Over 12 weeks, participants learned about various digital marketing tools and strategies that are essential in today’s fast-moving digital world.
A key feature of the programme was the one-to-one mentoring sessions. These sessions provided personalised advice and support, helping each participant apply what they learned to their own business goals. This hands-on approach made the programme even more practical and beneficial for local business owners.
The programme also leveraged the new Kerry brand to support participants in expanding their reach and visibility online, reinforcing the value of digital skills in promoting local business and tourism alike. The Kerry brand promotes Kerry as a destination to Visit, Live & Work.
This pilot programme marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between Kerry ETB and Discover Kerry. Together, we aim to continue supporting local businesses by improving digital skills, encouraging innovation, and creating new opportunities in the region.
For some of the participants, this course is just the start. Later this year, BSU will launch an Advanced ICDL Digital Marketing course to help learners deepen their knowledge and skills. This will provide a natural next step for those who want to take their digital expertise to the next level. Additionally, some participants are aiming to progress into the newly developed Digital Marketing Apprenticeship, which offers a great career pathway for those serious about a career in digital marketing.
