Sitting on the most westerly tip of Ireland and Europe, County Kerry has arguably some of the most stunning beaches in the country, if not in the world, which is why thousands of family's travel to its coastline every year to enjoy the striking views and clean water. County Kerry has 12 Blue Flag Beaches. The Blue Flag programme aims to raise environment awareness and promote sound environment management of beaches, marinas and inland bathing waters around the world.

Ballyheigue Blue Flag Beach is an extensive sandy beach located beside Ballyheigue in County Kerry. It looks out over Tralee Bay and is a great place for swimming, surfing, walking and other water sports activities.

The Green Coast Award recognises beaches for their clean environment, water quality and natural beauty. County Kerry has 5 Green Coast Award Beaches.
