What clothing should I wear or bring?
The weather can vary greatly in Ireland, and it’s not uncommon to experience four seasons in one day. Irish winters can be cold, with average temperatures around 4°C, and summers are usually mild, with an average temperature of 18°C. However, summer days can also reach highs over 22°C.

Ireland gets a lot of rain, so it is best to bring a raincoat or waterproof jacket. We suggest wearing layers when walking or cycling the greenway, so you can peel them off or pile them on, depending on which seasons you experience during the day. It is also recommended to wear brightly coloured clothes or high-vis vests when on the greenway.

Are there rubbish bins on the greenway?
The Kerry Greenways follow Leave No Trace principles to encourage all to protect and enjoy our greenway environment in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner. Litter bins can be found at trailheads.
