With a background in biomedical science and drug development, Helena earned a Ph.D. in Gene and Cellular Therapeutics from Trinity College Dublin. Today, she leads the Circular Bioeconomy Research Group at Munster Technological University, where she works on innovative projects that push the boundaries of sustainable science and industry.

Helena’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2018 when she co-founded Nutramara, a marine biotech company focused on harnessing bioactives from algae. Not one to stand still, she went on to establish Seabody in 2021, a premium beauty and wellness brand using sustainably sourced marine ingredients.

She also co-founded The Blue Pet Company, creating clean, marine-based supplements for pets. These ventures not only highlight her innovative thinking but also put Kerry on the map as a leader in the global bioeconomy.
