The most recent forum featured an outstanding lineup of guest speakers, each offering valuable insights on key aspects of diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing in the workplace.
AbilityWise
Deirdre O’Grady from AbilityWise delivered a compelling presentation on Neurodiversity and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Deirdre highlighted the importance of creating neuro-inclusive environments and how embracing different ways of thinking can lead to stronger, more dynamic teams in the hospitality industry.
LGBTQ+ Listowel FRC
Daniel Quirke-Soundy represented the LGBTQ+ Listowel Family Resource Centre, and shared heartfelt stories and practical advice on how hospitality businesses can better support LGBTQ+ employees and guests. Daniel’s talk emphasized the value of visibility, allyship, and inclusive policies in building respectful and welcoming environments.
Kerry Mental Health Association
John Drummey from the Kerry Mental Health Association gave a powerful address on mental health awareness in the workplace. John encouraged hospitality leaders to prioritise mental wellness, reduce stigma, and create open channels of support for their teams.

HR leaders within the sector play an important part in promoting a culture that supports career development and empowers people to excel in their profession. The IHF Kerry Branch HR Committee includes: Eilís Loughrey, Madina Zikare, Susan Kelly, Bernadette Randles, Emer Corridan, Brian Lawlor and Garrett Power.
