Food, Fun, and Adventure on the Trail

The group enjoyed a lovely welcome and meet-and-greet at The James Hotel, Tralee, where they got to know each other and received a quick overview of the plans for the weekend. Afterwards, everyone soaked up the lively atmosphere with live music and amazing food vendors at the Tralee Food Festival Street Party.

The next morning the group came together to cycle the Tralee to Fenit Greenway with Bike Hire from Tralee Bike Rental, a highlight of the day was cycling the trail and stopping at local restaurants and cafés to sample some of the region’s finest flavours. After a morning of fresh air and scenic views, the day included a stroll down the pier, and an exciting boat trip with Tralee Bay Experiences including a tour of Fenit Lighthouse on Sapphire Island.

Back in Tralee, the afternoon was spent soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying the wider Taste Trail! The Tralee Food Festival is a true celebration of community, family, and local food. Each May, the festival brings people together to enjoy fantastic food, music, and entertainment, showcasing Kerry’s rich agricultural and coastal culinary heritage. Later that evening the group enjoyed their own unique Kerry Bar through a whiskey tasting with Neil of Kingdom Whiskey Tasting followed by a delicious dinner at The Ashe Hotel, before heading out to enjoy the live music and vibrant atmosphere of the Tralee Food Festival’s.

On Sunday, visitors got a chance to explore at their own pace—some choosing to head back to Fenit for a refreshing sea swim, others making the most of their remaining tokens and missed vendors at the Food Fair, while some ventured further afield to enjoy the stunning Banna Strand.
