Two Kerry companies were recognised on the national stage at the Small Firms Association National Small Business Awards 2026, with Dingle Sea Salt and Tom Crean Brewery Kenmare shortlisted in the Sustainability category.
In a major result for the county, Dingle Sea Salt was named the national winner, highlighting the strength of Kerry’s food producers and their commitment to environmentally responsible production.
Dingle Sea Salt Wins Sustainability Award
Based on the Dingle Peninsula, Dingle Sea Salt produces hand harvested sea salt using Atlantic seawater and traditional methods. The company has built a reputation for producing a premium Irish ingredient while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability and responsible production.
Winning the Sustainability category recognises businesses that embed environmental thinking across their operations, from energy and water use to waste management and community impact. The award highlights how Dingle Sea Salt has successfully combined traditional craft with a modern commitment to protecting the natural environment that supports the business.
The recognition places the company among Ireland’s leading small businesses demonstrating how sustainability can sit at the centre of a successful food business.

Tom Crean Brewery Kenmare Among Finalists
Also representing Kerry in the category was Tom Crean Brewery Kenmare, a craft brewery inspired by the famous Antarctic explorer from Annascaul.
The brewery has been recognised for its environmentally conscious brewing practices including energy efficiency and efforts to reduce waste, with spent grain reused within local agricultural supply chains.
Tom Crean Brewery is also a member of STIK, Sustainable Tourism in Kenmare, a community led initiative developed by Kenmare Tidy Towns that encourages businesses and visitors to support responsible tourism and help protect the local environment.
