As we mark Local Enterprise Week and International Women’s Day 2025, we celebrate the women across Kerry and our diaspora who are driving change, shaping industries, and leading the way in their communities. Every day, women are making an impact—breaking barriers, innovating, and advocating in ways that matter.
This year, we’re revisiting the Discover Kerry Archives to highlight just some of the inspiring women we’ve previously featured and embody the #AccelerateAction theme. From business and leadership to STEM, education, sustainability, sport, and the arts, these women create opportunities, challenge the status quo, and pave the way for future generations.
We know this is just a snapshot. Across every town, workplace, and sector, women in Kerry and of Kerry are shaping a better future—whether by:
- Championing economic empowerment and entrepreneurship
- Supporting diverse talent in workplaces
- Encouraging women and girls into leadership, business, and STEM
- Designing infrastructure that meets the needs of women and girls
- Advocating for women’s health and well-being
- Leading in sustainable agriculture and food security
- Ensuring access to education and training
- Elevating women’s achievements in sport, the arts, and culture
There are many more stories to tell. Today, we acknowledge and celebrate women and girls of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences who have been driving progress across Kerry and beyond—and we encourage everyone to continue supporting, championing, and advocating for the empowerment and inclusion of all women and girls everywhere.
