Kerry Homecoming Festival at Halloween

The Kerry Homecoming Festival at Halloween from 18th October to 1st November  2024 as part of the Global Irish Festival Series. The Festival is a truly unique opportunity for the thousands of Kerry people around the world to make the trip home and celebrate the culture of their home county, uncover shared histories and forge new, lasting connections. 

The festival is supported by Fáilte Ireland and the Department of Foreign Affairs, to deliver a festival to encourage Kerry’s diaspora to visit during the festival and reconnect to their communities. 

Halloween comes from an ancient Celtic festival called Samhain,  the festival of Samhain celebrates the end of the annual harvest season and the coming of winter. The Kerry Homecoming festival programme will feature Samhain / Halloween spectacle events in towns and villages and will include a range of sporting, heritage, cultural, food, community festivals and business events.
